Kindergarten Web Connections
Summer 2008

This was an amazing year in Kindergarten! Your children have learned so much! Here are some ideas for things to do over the summer months. Summer blessings! ~Mrs. S.

Read, Read, Read.

Join a summer reading club. Your local library and book stores have some great ones.

Read, Read, Read.

Keep a journal to recount your summer activities. Children can draw, dictate or use “Kindergarten writing” to remember all their summer fun. Add photos and souvenirs too.

Read, Read, Read.

Write a letter. Teach your child to keep in touch with friends and relatives while practicing handwriting and communications skills. Write to Benny at Mrs. Sterner’s home address and Benny promises to write back.

Read, Read, Read.

Practice this year’s sight words. A complete list can be found below. Use flash cards, matching games, and short stories. Your local library and book store has lots of easy readers packed with sight words.

Spend time with your family visiting museums, historic sights, etc. There’s so much to do right here in your own backyard! Enjoy your time together and create memories for years to come.
